Every year, we hold meetings in the city square where citizens can express themselves, ask questions to experts in their fields and convey their views to the mayor. We call these meetings “Ç?naralt? Talks. This is an important tradition in ancient Turkish geography. Sycamore trees were found in the city squares. Citizens talked about their daily problems, country agenda and city news. In order to revive this tradition and bring citizens and politicians together, we organized Ç?naralt? Talks Avrupa during European Local Democracy Week.
