Youth Engagement in Local Governance

From 10.10.2019 to the end of 2020 in Armenia there will be held 17 workshops 15 of which in marzes for young civic activists to raise the youth engagement in local governance and to familiarize them with the activities of local authorities and for development of their oversight. “V4 for Youth Engagement in Local Governance” program is implemented by Union of Communities of Armenia and by "Free Citizen" Civic Initiatives Support Center by financial support of Visegrad fund. About the project Purpose: Develop the capacity of young civic activists to engage, monitor and oversee local government activities, raise their awareness about European structures, institutions and programs in Armenia. The participants of the project are required to be: -16-30 ages - Interested in the development of their own communities, resource management and local government activities. Other -Each workshop will be attended by 15-25 participants -The best 26 participants of the workshops will be selected to participate in 5-day Summer school in July, 2020. Another 60 young people will be invited to attend at the Youth Conference, in 2020. -The best ten participants from all Armenian marzes, who submitted a one-page program / article on any community problem, including local government issues and ways to address them, will receive a prize of 100,000 AMD.
