CSO-ISG Forums in the Communities of the Republic of Armenia

During 2019 CSO-ISG representatives’ forums and discussions were held in different communities of the Republic of Armenia. Started from 2017 more than 9 forums were held in the Republic of Armenia. The discussions were held in the communities such as Goris, Dilijan, Vanadzor, Paraqar, Gyumri, Jermuk, Yerevan. The purpose of such regional discussions was to organize discussions on various topics such as the control over local self-government bodies and the way in which public oversight takes place, monitoring mechanism organized and implemented for the implementation of local government bodies, issues related to the mechanisms of control and self-management of local self-government bodies, public control mechanisms, legal regulations, the need of community development master plans and approaches of assessment of effectiveness. The forums were aimed at enabling and motivating citizens, especially the representatives of CSO-ISG sector to get involved in local decision-making process to participate through various instruments such as participatory budgets, municipal councils, etc. The discussions gave the platform for the CSO-ISG representatives to enter into a dialogue and to cooperate for the sake of local democracy and fot the sake of the development of the community.
