Joint Integrated Local Development Programme, UNDP-Moldova

The Joint Integrated Local Development Programme (JILDP) assists the Government of Moldova in the decentralisation process, which aims to promote local autonomy and access of all citizens, especially those of rural communities and vulnerable groups, to quality public services.

Following the development and adoption of the National Decentralisation Strategy in 2012, in the period of 2013-2015, the programme focuses on the implementation of the Strategy, with emphasis on two key directions:

- Improving the policy and legal framework to ensure the local autonomy, availability and more efficient management of local resources, in order to provide better services to all;

- Strengthening local governments’ capacity to provide public services in an efficient, fair and accessible manner, while ensuring sustainable development and social inclusion.
