Ukrainian Platform of Intercultural Cities

In March 2011, several representatives from Ukrainian cities met in Kyiv and signed the Memorandum on the Ukrainian Platform of Intercultural Cities. It was subscribed by the cities of Melitopol, Pryluky, Khmelnytsky, Yuzhne, Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Nizhyn, Kherson. Three other Ukrainian cities, Pavlograd, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia, agreed to join the national network afterwords. The participating cities set up a task force and developed an action plan.

The network develops exchanges with other European networks. It will use the intercultural dimension as a development tool. The main principles of their local policies are openess, participatory democracy, positive diversity and equal rights.
