Chania and Lesvos Deputy Mayors visited Mayor's Office

Deputy mayor of Lesvos (Greece), Taksiarhis Verros, and the deputy mayor of Chania (Greece), Eleftheria Alifieraki, have been the special foreign guests of our celebrations for the European Local Democracy Week. The mayor of Edremit hosted them in his office where they discussed the importance of this week. The Deputy Mayor of Chania shared a lot of useful information and suggestions to improve our program for the next year. Kamil Saka wanted to share with the guest his sincere joy for hosting his Greek colleagues and friends during this significant and meaningful week reminding his intention to foster and encourage every kind of cooperation between Edremit, Chania and Lesbos, particularly regarding “Twin Town” projects.
Deputy Mayor of Lesvos (Greece) Mr.Taksiarhis Verros and the Deputy Mayor of Chania (Greece) Mrs. Eleftheria Alifieraki have been the special foreign guests of our celebrations for the European Local Democracy Week 2017. The Mayor of Edremit received them in his office where they discussed about the importanceof this week, exchanging their point of views. The Deputy Mayor of the city of Chania, that celebrates the European Local Democracy Week since 2011, shared a lot of useful information and suggestions to eventually improve our program for the next year activities. Mr. Kamil Saka wanted to share with the guest his sincere joy for hosting his Greek colleagues and friends during this significant and meaningful week reminding his intention to foster and encourage every kind of cooperation between Edremit, Chania and Lesbos, particularly regarding “Twin Town” projects. During the day, the Deputy Mayors also visited the historical and touristic places of the city center of Edremit where they tasted the local cuisine in a gourmet house managed by a woman cooperative situated in a restored Rum) house ( a traditional one with the typical architecture style belonging to Greek citizens of Ottoman Empire).
