« Municipality of Kırklareli » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner city »

Kırklareli was founded in 1870 and named on 20 December 1924. If you follow the street that runs upwards from Hızırbey Mosque, which can be considered as the city center in Kırklareli, road will take you to Yayla Square and Ali Rıza Efendi Culture House will be opened on 20 December 2017. Greek, Bulgarian, Turkish and Jewish communities lived in Yayla Neighborhood for years. Therefore, it was agreed with Greece, Bulgaria and Montenegro states and organized a room to reflect their cultures. In order to reflect the common culture in Ali Riza Efendi Culture House; it has a Greek room, a Bulgarian room and a Montenegrin room and has been visited since opening of 275.000 people. Also in Yayla Neighborhood; Kırklareli Atatürk House, opened to the public on 17 January 2018. Kırklareli Atatürk House was built by Municipality of Kırklareli, under the direction of Mayor of Kırklareli Mehmet Siyam KESİMOĞLU and with support of the charitable citizens of Kırklareli whose hearts Mustafa Kemal Atatürk beats. Kırklareli Atatürk House has the same architectural plan of the Atatürk House in Thessaloniki / Greece, also in design of the rooms attention was paid to the finest details and has been visited since opening of 300.000 people. Kırklareli Atatürk House and Kırklareli citizens will be happy and proud to welcome their guests in the future as they did in the past. The Women's Solidarity and Education Center (KADAM) is located in Yayla Neighborhood, which was set up to teach arts and crafts to women living in the city, to develop and to create employment opportunities through the courses we offer. Regarding the theme "Every Color is Free in Kırklareli;" Kırklareli non-governmental organizations and women entrepreneurs provide the students with the opportunity to gain scholarship from the sale of hand-made products in wooden huts and wheeled stands of different colors in Yayla Square. In Cumhuriyet Neighborhood, approximately 2.000 women in year are served in Zumba, Cardio and Pilates classes free of charge by expert trainers at the Kırklareli Municipality Women's Sports Center Zübeyde Hanım. In the scope of Bulgaria - Turkey IPA CBC-(Cross Boarder Cooperation Program) was built the Atatürk Cultural Center. Within the opening of the Cultural Center on 23 April 2015; Conference Hall, Wedding Hall, Bridal Room, Meeting Hall, Foyer area for theater performances, conferences and wedding hall continues to serve. There is also a workshop room where artistic activities such as painting, photography, theatre and dance can be performed. Our project was selected as “Best Practices” at the meeting held on 13 October 2015 in Sofia / Bulgaria. Kırklareli is the shining star of Turkey with historical and cultural richness, intellectuals and contemporary living. Kırklareli contains all colors into with the motto “The City of Happy People” will continue to be one of the exclusive and distinctive cities of Marmara Region in the future as it was did in the past.
