Social excursion

Self-Government Museum, Kharkiv (Ukraine)
From 17/10/2018 to 17/10/2018
This is a social excursion for senior schoolchildren aimed at raising their awareness of the origin and the foundations of self-government in Kharkiv by visiting the locations and landmarks related to the Cossacks. The excursion starting point is the Self-Government Museum hosting a quest for the participants on their knowledge of the principles and key ideas of self-government and local democracy.
The excursion "Where there is a Cossack, there is Freedom" for 40 tenth-eleventh grade schoolchildren from among the social contingent of 5 secondary schools took place with the engagement of 5 adults on October 17, 2018. The excursion began with a visit to the Local Self-Government Museum and a quest. The main purpose of the excursion was to acquaint the children with the origins of the Cossacks in the city of Kharkiv as the self-governing community. The children were pleasantly impressed by and interested in Local Self-Government Museum, and the interesting story told by the guide. The quest was especially memorable to the children. Such excursions are very useful for children because they cultivate interest in the city, its historical role, sense of dignity, patriotism, etc. The excursion report and photos are available at: https://www.facebook.com/KharkivTravel/posts/2205925013012772
