The European Local Democracy Week in Kharkiv ended with a concert held under the slogan “Democracy and Art” organized under the auspices of the International Cooperation Department of Kharkiv City Council and the Youth Council at the Mayor of Kharkiv.
Musical performers, dance ensembles, street poets and comedians – all gathered on October 21 to create a most democratic atmosphere in Kharkiv National Opera and Ballet Theater.
For two hours, the audience discovered for themselves new names and got acquainted with future stars of the world cultural scene.
In the very heart of the city, Kharkiv citizens welcomed young artists who revealed the theme of democracy through art.
The entrance to the concert was open to all interested, and those invited through social networks. In addition, the volunteers invited in citizens and guests of the city who happened to be walking by.
The concert was broadcast live through 5 channels on Instagram and Facebook covering the audience of about 1500 people, as well as on the pages of opinion leaders, who attended the event. The shares and stories of the social networks users are estimated to have covered thousands of users.
The goal of the concert was to show how much the city is full of creative people and is capable of holding spontaneous democratic and cultural events organized by citizens for citizens.
