The city council composed of non-governmental organization representatives and makes advisory decisions to the municipal parliament which is elected ruling body of the municipality alongside mayor. The municipality has kept the city council active and productive from 2005 to present. Currently, we were carried out 19th plenary assembly of the city council and it is a success in manner that many local governments in Turkey cannot motivate their citizens to take part in decision making process through city council.
The plenary session is open the participation of all citizens as well as NGO representatives. The mayor and representative of public institutions also participated in and management board of the city council is elected. in addition, the citizens expressed their ideas, demands and complains directly to mayor as well as governor and public institution representatives.
