International Conference “The Road to the Europe Prize: from Challenges to Perspectives”

On June, 6 Kharkiv City Council together with the Resident Representative Office of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv Office of Association of Ukrainian Cities held the International Conference “The Road to the Europe Prize: from Challenges to Perspectives”.
The purpose of the Conference was to promote the European ideal and the Europe Prize among Ukrainian cities, to discuss the details and methodology of applying for the Europe Prize.
Participants of the Conference: Chairperson of Sub-Committee on the Europe Prize, Ukrainian municipalities, member-cities of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize, consular offices in Kharkiv, participants of the youth program “Open Doors”.
Main issues discussed:
? Cities and municipalities in modern European initiatives
? Replication of European democratic standards and values by Ukrainian local authorities
? The Europe Prize: history and main values
? the Europe Prize as a key for the Ukrainian cities to be involved in pan-European processes
? Experience of cities winners of the Europe Prize
? Role of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize

Le 6 juin 2019 le Conseil municipal de Kharkiv en coopération avec la Représentation en Ukraine de l’Association des villes lauréates du Prix de l’Europe et le Bureau de l’Association des villes ukrainiennes à Kharkiv ont organisé une Conférence internationale «Le chemin vers le Prix de l’Europe, les défis et les perspectives».
Le but de la Conférence était de promouvoir des valeurs européennes et le Prix de l’Europe parmi les villes de l’Ukraine et d’examiner la méthodologie et les aspects techniques pour ambitionner le Prix de l’Europe.
Participants à la Conférence: Président de la Sous-commission du Prix de l’Europe de l’Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l’Europe, représentants des municipalités de l’Ukraine, représentants des villes membres de l’Association des villes lauréates du Prix de l’Europe, représentants des établissements consulaires à Kharkiv, représentants du programme de jeunesse «Portes ouvertes».
