Zero Waste Taxi

In the aim of the project, citizens of Beykoz collect their recycling materials (such as paper, plastic, glass, cardboard, batteries, electronic wastes etc.) in their homes. Then they call the municipality’s lines (444 66 61) and inform the official for their wastes, addresses and phone numbers. Instead of going outside or looking for recycling units, the special minibus (that is called as “Zero Waste Taxi)” come the registered address and collect the wastes. The waste collected by the waste taxi personnel is collected in the main storage area of Beykoz Municipality. It is sent to licensed recycling and disposal facilities. Hence, this activity leads to economical and environmental gain.
The aim of the project, which was initiated with the slogan of "Sort Your Package, Call a Taxi", is to spread awareness of zero waste in the district, to facilitate citizens in effective waste management practices, and to achieve a sustainable environment for future generations.
