Antalya's Water Source Was Cleaned on World Cleanup Day

The Environmental Committee of Muratpa?a Municipality, which is under the roof of ASS?M, which is also the largest non-governmental organization campus in Europe, carried out underwater and environmental cleaning in K?rkgöz Pond, one of Antalya's natural water resources, with the support of Dö?emealt? Municipality. For the World Cleanup Day, associations, students and divers gathered in the region earlier in the day. After completing the preparations on land, the Underwater Group led by AU Faculty of Fisheries Faculty Member Prof. Dr.Mehmet Göko?lu dived into K?rkgöz, while the volunteers started cleaning around the pond. While the packaging waste, bottles and cigarette butts scattered around were collected one by one, the scenery was even more frightening under the water. During the dive, which lasted for about an hour, divers collected tables with one broken leg, construction waste from the brick door, pine bottles, plastic waste under the water.
