Creation of a Council of Foreign Residents

Etterbeek has a very diverse population in terms of nationalities, origins and languages. It is important to be able to involve all publics in the decisions of the municipality. This Council would be a melting pot for debate and a place for proposals, bringing together foreign residents around : - questions of daily life; - debates contributing to the recognition of cultural diversity or to strengthen the fight against discrimination; - information on voting rights and incentives to participate in elections in which they are entitled to vote. Such a Council would also generate new social links, beneficial to a population that only resides in the territory in a short or medium term and therefore does not seek to become involved in civic life. This Council will be open to all Etterbeekois.es, regardless of nationality. It will be carried out in collaboration with the European Affairs Department.
