Ikskile municipality

This year the town of Ikskile is celebrating 835th anniversary. Local community of the municipality is socially responsible and actively participates in public affairs. A year ago the residents said a strict “No” to our territory's amalgamation with a neighboring municipality. As it has been ignored by the central government, our aim for ELDW is to renew and maintain the faith in democracy and in the values of the European Union. Municipality’s official slogan is "A good beginning" - a good beginning for a family, business, initiative and a better society. We believe that our municipality can also be a good beginning for the further path of democracy in Latvia!
