« City of Iasi » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner city »

Iasi City, “the Cultural capital” of Romania, is situated in S-E Europe, in the N-E of Romania, and is the most important city near the border, as it is the eastern entrance gate to the European Union and the capital of the future Euro-region. With a population of around 320,000 inhabitants, Iasi is one of the 3 largest cities in the country.

It is also home to one of the oldest and most important university centres in Romania, with more than 70,000 students every year spread over 5 universities: “Al. I. Cuza” University for Human sciences, “Gh. Asachi” Technical University, “Gr. T. Popa” Medicine and Pharmacy University, “Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Agricultural [......]
