Arad Municipality

« Arad Municipality » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner city »

Arad is the capital city of the Arad County, straddling the Mures River and occupying parts of two historical provinces of the Western Romania, Crisana and Banat. The city has a population of 147,992 inhabitants, making it the 13th largest city in Romania and the third largest city in the western part of the country, after Timisoara and Oradea. 

The city is the most important trans-European road and rail transportation junction point in Western Romania, included in the 4th Pan-European Corridor linking Western European and Middle Eastern countries.
