« Albanian Association of Communes » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner association »
The Albanian Association of Communes is a national organization of 308 communes, established in August 1997, which has been strengthened and empowered due to members’ support and through cooperation with donors and partnerships with sister Associations.
We aim at supporting the local governments on promoting local democracy.
Nowadays, AAC is a respected and active stakeholder in the decentralization process of Albania and a representative voice in Europe, as a member of the delegation at the Congress of Local Authorities and Regions of the Council of Europe and other important international organizations.
