Community Barbecues - Reinvent Your Neighbourhood Programme

On 15 November 2024, the Bairro da Torre project in Cascais inaugurated the Churrasqueiras da Torre, an achievement for the community. ‘We competed for the Reinvent Your Neighbourhood Programme, fortunately we won, and we were able to restore four barbecues and provide the neighbourhood with a space for physical activity, street work out,’ explained Calu, one of the project's mentors. In April, the workout was installed, much sought after by the population, and the requalification of the barbecues was carried out, and finalised, in November, with the community. ‘Cascais Town Council is extremely proud to support this type of project. The barbecue will allow us to have even more and better moments of sharing, of community, and to exchange knowledge and life experience. Strength makes the difference, together we are happier,’ said José Duarte D'Almeida (Zeca Duarte), present at the inauguration, to loud applause from those present. The Reinvent Your Neighbourhood Programme supports projects that promote close relationships between residents and neighbours.
