The Office International du Coin de Terre et des Jardins Familiaux is the most important European non-profit making union of national allotment and leisure garden federations with more than 2 million affiliated leisure gardeners and leisure family gardens.
The International Office was founded on 3rd October 1926 and will celebrate its 90th anniversary this year. It unites national federations from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great-Britain, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
The aim of the allotment gardeners is to help protect nature and the environment, to foster sustainable development and to improve the quality of life in urban areas.
They contribute to living together in harmony and to integration, thanks to their many locations, which allow associations of children, elderly, disabled people and migrants to meet.
They raise awareness among their members and citizens in regards to mutual respect and respect of nature and the environment.
