The city of Vranje

The city of Vranje is located in southern Serbia, in the central part of the Pcinja district. It borders with 5 municipalities of Pcinja district - in the north with the municipalities of Vladi?in Han and Surdulica, in the east with the municipality of Bosilegrad, in the south with the municipalities of Bujanovac and Trgovište, and in the northwestern part with 3 municipalities of the southern Serbian province of Kosovo, Kosovska Kamenica, Novo Brdo and Gjilan.The territory of the city of Vranje covers an area of 860 km², and consists of a total of 105 settlements, urban settlements Vranje and Vranjska Banja and 103 rural settlements organized in 32 local communities. Vranjska Banja has the status of a City Municipality. According to the 2011 census, the number of residents in the city is 83,524 inhabitants. The center of the city is the town of Vranje. The city is located in the northwestern part of the Vrana basin, on the left bank of the South Morava. It is located in at the foot of Pja?kovica (1231m), Krstilovica (1154m) and the State (731m) and represents economic, administrative, health, educational and cultural center of Pcinjski district.
