Municipality of Bac

The municipality of Bac is located in the southwestern part of the extensive Pannonian plain, in Vojvodina, even closer in the southwestern part of Backa. The Bac municipality is a border town, its western border is the Danube River, 43 km long. The Danube-Tisa-Danube canal also flows through Bac. The most important and largest events in the municipality of Bac are „Backi kotli?“ (August) and „Days of European Heritage - Days of Bac“ (September). The most important attractions that also make up the tourist offer are: Fortress Bac - from the 14th century, it is the best preserved medieval fortification in the area of Vojvodina, Franciscan monastery - from the 12th century, located in the center of Bac, the complex consists of a monastery complex, in the shape of a square, with an inner courtyard and the church of the Assumption of Mary, the remains of the Turkish bath „HAMAM“ - most likely built after 1578 and is a valuable testimony of the period of Ottoman domination in this area, Monastery Bodjani - 15th century, the monastery complex consists of a church, lodgings and accompanying economic facilities, then ethno houses and ethno settings that preserve the rich traditions of the peoples of this region (Serbs, Slovaks, Šokci, Hungarians, Croats, Bosniaks...), then the landscaped „Provala“ lake with a sandy beach and a camping area , numerous catering facilities, restorans on the Danube. „ EuroVelo 6“- international cycle path runs through the municipality of Bac for a length of 43 km, and its entire length follows the most beautiful parts of our area: the Danube hunting ground of Plavna with its beautiful nature, the Danube bank, through the vast Pannonian plain, next to the chards on the Danube. Cycling tourism in the municipality of Bac, as well as in Serbia, is increasingly popular and attracts a large number of tourists.
