Town of Veauche

The town of Veauche has more than 9,000 inhabitants, in the heart of the Forez area and benefits from a strategic location near Saint-Etienne and on the banks of the Loire River. This position has marked its history and contributed to the development of the town that it is today. Located on a very old communication route from Feurs to Saint-Rambert, Velchia, which became Veauche, was only a small village with a few hundred inhabitants in the Middle Ages. Veauche is a town of contrasts and cultivates this atypical side where the wealthy properties overlooking the Loire and the houses of the working-class town, a strong marker of the town's identity, stand side by side. The municipal team, through its roadmap, is committed to constantly improving the quality of life, particularly by developing green spaces for its inhabitants. Veauche has been awarded the European City label. It is home to the House of Europe and Twinning at 19 Avenue Paccard. This is a genuine resource centre for the promotion of European initiatives in all their forms.
