The municipality of Batumi is divided into 14 administrative units. Each unit is served by one service center. There are 14 service centers that are engaged in providing services to citizens. The service centers together with the citizens foster the building local democracy and open governance. Since this year the theme of the European Local Democracy Week is Building Trust, Batumi Municipality gathered the branch managers, citizens and other stakeholders to participate in the opening ceremony of the ELDW. At the meeting was presented certificates of achievement and successful examples that confirm the mechanisms of citizen engagement and public control. Future changes that will further enhance better and relevant services was also announced. During the meeting was discussed future action plans. Municipality representative received the ideas and suggestions from the participants.
