« Conference of European Regional Legislative Assemblies (CALRE) » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner association »
The Conference of European Regional Legislative Assemblies (CALRE) is composed of all regional assemblies with legislative power in the European Union. A total of 74 members from 8 countries of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, UK.
The CALRE was founded by an act signed on 7 October 1997 in Oviedo (Spain) aiming at providing a more influential role of regional parliaments in the European legislative process, through:
- the collaboration between its members, the EU institutions and international networks to share experiences and build synergies for the defense of common interests.
