« CEVOI (Centre d'Etudes du Vivant de l'Océan Indien) » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner association »
Through working relationships with research laboratories located in Metropolitan France, the CEVOI helps to disseminate research findings and to explain the cultural and social challenges inherent in scientific and technical development: new cultural prospects, bioethical choices and ecological hazards.
It carries out research on the basis of existing studies, aimed at linking different areas of fundamental knowledge, and focuses on the decompartmentalisation of knowledge and subject areas under an approach that sets out to be all-encompassing, multi-disciplinary and bio-cultural – given that biology, as influenced by culture, constitutes the foundation of the life sciences.
