Campaign: Citizens participation, consultation and commitment: for a living local democracy

Maltepe will be celebrating the European Local Democracy Week for the first time this year. 23-29 October will be announced as ELDW with the main theme of "Citizens participation, consultation and commitment: for a living local democracy". As a local government, Maltepe gives great importance to the children rights and their direct involvement in developing policies and projects related to the city. Parallel to the remained emphasis of the ELDW to children participation in 2018, Maltepe will also have a special focus on children participation in its activities for the week. Last day of the week will be defined as the 29th of October on purpose as it has a great significance for the pupil for being the Revolution Day of Turkish Republic. The municipality will be calling its inhabitants through the website and social media accounts to directly involve in decision making of the name of the park will be open on that day. Since the children will be one of the main beneficiary group of that park is another reason to motivate them to participate. Maltepe people will be informed through the posters and banners hanged around the city and the announcement of the week will be done from social media accounts of the municipality. Besides posters about the open ballot will be hanged to the schools in Maltepe.
