Earthquake Aid Call to Sister Cities

Following the devastating earthquakes in the southern region of Türkiye, our municipality sprang into action to provide assistance to the affected area. We took significant steps to support the earthquake victims, including offering them housing in Istanbul Büyükçekmece and aiding in their resettlement, all while providing various forms of assistance. During this challenging period, the Foreign Relations Directorate of the municipality reached out to our sister cities, seeking assistance for the affected region. Cheonan Municipality from South Korea, Gelsenkirchen Municipality from Germany, and Gorna Municipality from Bulgaria, along with an association from Germany, promptly extended their help to the affected area. They contributed not only financial resources but also provided shelters, clothing, and shoes for both children and adults. Our municipality played a crucial role in distributing these resources to the earthquake victims in need, ensuring that the aid reached those who required it most.
