As the war in Ukraine keeps going, new dramas and sorrows are added every day. Since the first day of the war, Büyükçekmece Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün, who established communication with the Ukrainian Consul General Roman Nedilski and gathered information about the needs of the Ukrainian people, took action in response to requests coming from the region. Previously, Büyükçekmece Municipality sent 3 trucks of humanitarian aid materials, including medical supplies, food, clothing, and hygiene kits, to both Harkiv, where the conflicts are intensifying, and Dolyna, which is also Büyükçekmece Municipality's sister city and heavily affected by internal displacement.
