Youth Council

The Youth Council, which serves as a trailblazer for youth initiatives within the Municipality, has undergone revisions similar to those in the Children’s Council. Decisions made by young individuals who convene under various commissions are forwarded for discussion to both the Municipal Council and relevant departments. The inaugural meeting of Büyükçekmece Municipality's "Youth Council" was held at the Atatürk Cultural Center. During this meeting, elections were conducted, and specialized commissions were established. Mahmut Can Acıöz and his team were elected to lead the council. The young residents of Büyükçekmece, integral participants in the municipality's participatory democracy, convened to not only elect their council president but also to brainstorm ideas for projects aimed at benefiting their fellow young residents in Büyükçekmece. They actively engaged in discussions concerning forthcoming initiatives and shared their valuable insights.
