Shaped by people : making a difference in your community

We invited citizens to tell us how they feel about getting involved in their community and being part of civic life. This activity is part of our commitment to our Shaped by People shared goal, which was created by local citizens. This is a shared strategic outcome for Kirklees Council and our partners, which says that everyone should be able to get involved in actively shaping their community. We are using what we learn together to grow a stronger local democracy here in Kirklees. Citizens participated by completing and online scorecard and telling us how they feel, by requesting a printed Conversation Pack to use in their community, or by sharing their personal story. These activities are helping us to find out how we can support more people to become active citizens and take part in local democracy.
