Lviv
From 01/07/2021 to 30/09/2021
Lviv City Council carried out strategic sessions with residents of Lviv City Territorial Community to involve residents in the development of their territory. The main task of strategic sessions is to establish communication with the residents of the attached communities, to identify the main needs and problems, to work out ways to solve them together. The part of this strategic sessions carried out in collaboration with the Office of the Council of Europe in the framework of the project «Strengthening public participation in the democratic decision-making process in Ukraine». Among the issues and difficulties discussed were important and environmental needs: reclamation of the former landfill, waste sorting, delineation of parks and squares, assigning parks the status of a nature reserve fund, cleaning lakes, delimitation, and improvement of water bodies, preservation of ecosystems, creation of conditions for leisure and recreation: stadiums, playgrounds, open public spaces. As a result of these strategic sessions, we held meetings with the Deputy Mayor for Urban Development. During this meeting we have worked together to resolve the issues raised, prepared many regulations and decisions. This ensures that the residents of the affiliated communities are heard and the environmental and environmental issues raised are addressed. In addition, an information campaign was conducted on separate sorting of garbage, providing all offices of the Lviv City Council in the affiliated communities with appropriate containers for sorting. A total of 9 strategic sessions were held. They provided dialogue, a clear understanding of the problems, identified ways to solve these problems, and provided an opportunity to build a plan to implement improvements.
