Food Waste Prevention Panel

Food and agriculture sector gives a direction to its activities according to demand of the consumers. Consequently the conscious consumer is the most important part of the food chain. The sector will produce products according to individual tendencies. Because of this, change of the tendencies are very important. The production should be entegrated with environmental preservation conscience. Food waste should decrease 50 % at least as a prevent against lack of food and malnutrition. We should update arrangements which is effective on whole production, storage, transportation, packing and labeling process’ to stop food waste. Within this context, we have organized awareness trainings that we have started with Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) Chamber of Food Engineers Izmir Branch at our Sustainability and Innovation Center. Chamber of Food Engineers Izmir Branch 2nd Chairman of the Board Omer Ulas KIRIM gave lecture about food waste, the crux of the food waste prevention in the World and in Turkey. He gave lecture about individual struggle and legal process about food production chains as well.
