Conference on citizen participation in decision-making in the environment and information in emergency situations with the aspect of localization of SDG in total and especially goal 11

The aim of the conference is to present the SCTM Methodology on Surveying Customer's Satisfaction with communal services and experiences from the local level in emergency situations. The Methodology is based on the experience of 7 local governments. The second part will be dedicated to the way of informing citizens in emergency situations - examples of municipalities. The target group are decision makers and employees in local governments dealing with issues in the field of communal services, environmental protection, and emergencies.

Conference "Citizen Participation in Environmental Decision-Making and Emergency Information". The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) organized a conference entitled "Citizen Participation in Environmental Decision-Making and Emergency Information" on October 14, 2021, through the Zoom platform in front of more than 90 participants, on the occasion of marking the European Week of Local Democracy. ?or?e Stani?i?, Secretary General of the SCTM, Vladimir Prebili?, Congress Rapporteur and Biljana Filipovi? from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia spoke at the conference. The first panel, on the topic of citizen participation in environmental decision-making, presented the experiences of the local level of Sweden, Zrenjanin and Cajetina, as well as the SCTM Methodology on researching customer satisfaction with utilities. The second panel was focused on the topic of information in emergency situations, where the experiences of Vracar and Loznica were presented, as well as the SCTM crisis communication model. The conference was another example of successful joint cooperation between representatives of international organizations, line ministries of the Republic of Serbia, cities and municipalities, as well as representatives of the professional public and civil society in order to support local governments in Serbia and exchange experiences in engaging citizens on local issues. This activity was realized within the Program "Support to Local Self-Governments in Serbia on the Road to the EU - Second Phase", which is financed by the Government of Sweden.
