Municipal Support Package for Disaster Risk Reduction
Smederevska Palanka and the municipality of Petrovac na Mlavi (Serbia)

In the scope of ELDW 2023, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia provided technical support to the municipality of Smederevska Palanka and the municipality of Petrovac na Mlavi in the field of disaster risks reduction. SCTM helped those municipalities establish a sustainable framework for disaster risk reduction and resilience building thought tailor-made workshops, creation and organization of civil protection drills in schools and elaboration of local planning documents such as Risk Assessment, Protection and Rescue Plan and Risks Reduction Plan. This process involved citizens and particularly representatives of vulnerable groups and contributed to ensuring a higher level of inclusiveness, safety, and resilience of those local communities.
