Educational activities in community educational institutions as part of the celebration of the European Local Democracy Week

As part of the European Local Democracy Week, Fastiv educational institutions held roundtable discussions among students and school self-government leaders on the following topics: "Emergence and Development of Local Self-Government in Europe" and "Let Every Voice Be Heard", "Local Democracy is a European Value", etc. The students learned about the European Charter of Local Self-Government, the activities of city councils, reviewed the mechanisms and tools for ensuring decision-making at the local and regional levels, and discussed the achievements of local democracy in Ukraine and Europe. The students presented their projects aimed at developing local democracy. The participants of the event are convinced that the opportunity for citizens to participate in the social and political life of their cities and regions is the main prerequisite for effective and efficient local governance.
