Uccle administration tour

77 Stalle Street
From 18/01/2024 to 18/01/2024
The accessibility and transparency of a municipal administration help to strengthen the links between local elected officials, the administration and citizens, and also contribute to knowledge of the local institution. A principle that the commune of Uccle strives to implement. In recent years, citizens have had to cope with a succession of major crises, often accompanied by mistrust of their politicians and the state. When crises arise, citizens often look first to their elected representatives for support and assistance. Following the success of the "Behind the scenes in the administration" action organized as part of the Vilco project in 2020 (which involved a visit to several departments around a realization by a few citizens), the relevance of such an action on a larger scale was confirmed. As part of this year's project, the Uccle municipal administration will be open to the public in January 2024 from 5pm to 8pm. This guided tour will be open to all citizens wishing to learn more about the workings of their local authority and its various departments (registration is mandatory). Tours will also be given of the council chambers and the college. In addition, a pre-commune council committee day will be used to explain/illustrate the workings of the college and commune council in concrete terms. These guided tours will be conducted by "administration ambassadors", i.e. municipal staff who are familiar with the administration's internal locations and dynamics. Through this visit, the administration aims to develop ties and bring about a better understanding in order to restore citizens' confidence in the local institution. The commune of Uccle remains convinced that in these times of successive crises, dialogue, exchange and education are necessary elements around which it must structure its mission.
