City of Esch-sur-Alzette
« City of Esch-sur-Alzette » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner city »
With more than 36,000 inhabitants, Esch-sur-Alzette is the second largest city in the Grand Duchy. As a university town located in the heart of the greater region, Esch is home to over 120 different nationalities. It is precisely this mix that is part of the DNA of our city. Seriously affected by the decline of the steel industry, Esch has redefined itself to become a city where life is good. Public and private investments bear witness to this dynamism and national institutions such as the University or the Maison de la Grande Région further underline Esch's future role.
