Speaking for democracy - communication training against right-wing slogans and anti-democracy (advanced and in-depth training)

TIETZ, vhs, Moritzstraße 20 09111 Chemnitz Room 4.07
From 12/04/2024 to 13/04/2024
Discrimination is part of everyday life. People of a different skin colour, sexual orientation or religion are repeatedly subjected to hostility, exclusion and condescending comments. But people who are politically active and campaign for democracy are also verbally attacked. Do we have to accept this? No! This communication training course builds on the previous basic training course "Speaking for democracy - a communication training course against right-wing slogans and anti-democratic behaviour" and focuses on everyday racist and discriminatory situations. We reflect on these and work together to develop defensive democratic action strategies in order to be able to react to and counter anti-democratic statements and right-wing slogans. The aim is to be able to confidently defend one's own point of view, even in difficult and challenging situations, and to enter into dialogue with those who are spouting slogans. In this training course, we work closely with the participants' experiences and potential and skills-orientated questions. All experiences and knowledge are welcome, in particular any hostility and discrimination that you have experienced yourself. The offer is aimed at all interested parties, but especially at the participants from the basic training courses in October 2021, October 2022 and March 2024, who do not want to continue to stand idly by and remain speechless. This measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon state parliament. 12.04.2024 16:00-20:00; 13.04.2024 10:00-16:00 Roomnumber: 4.07
