Commune Berchem-Sainte-Agathe

« Commune Berchem-Sainte-Agathe » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner city »

The municipality of Berchem-Sainte-Agathe is one of the smallest municipalities in Brussels. It is situated to the northwest of the city, has a surface area of 295 hectares and a population of just over 25,000. The rural character that the municipality has been able to preserve over the centuries makes it a real "village in the city", a village in which conviviality is an essential part of daily life. The municipality is known for having an enormous amount of green space in relation to its size. Today, although it is an integral part of the European capital, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe is a reflection of the quiet green village where everyone shares the space in an eternal climate of savoir vivre.
