Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage: Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. Heritage Days and Youth involvment

In the frame of the European Local Democracy Week, Edremit Municipality wanted to enhance even more the visibility of this action involving the principle of environment protection with the event held during the European Heritage Days stressing the importance of sustainable cultural heritage. As developer and founding member of Aeneas Cultural Route, a certified cultural route of the Council of Europe. Edremit Municipality wanted to enhance the principle of sustainable tourism and cultural travel promoted bu the cultural routes of the Council of Europe. The exhibition "Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe trespassing Türkiye" was organised in the Youth Centre of the city, in order to invite the local community to learn about the several cultural routes and the heritage connected to them crossing Türkiye. In this way they could get acquainted to a new way to travel, greener and more sustainable with a wonderful occasion to get in touch with the European shared heritage.
