Seabed cleaning at the historical Kaleici Marina

The underwater cleaning team, which was established within the body of the Abdullah Sevimcok Civil Society and Innovation Centers (ASSIM) Environment Platform of Muratpasa Municipality in Antalya, made its first dive from the historical Kaleici Yacht Harbor. Divers even removed plastic chairs, rosaries and stovepipes from the historic harbor. Hosting Europe's largest non-governmental organizations campus, ASSIM's Environment Platform has established an underwater cleaning team with the Antalya Underwater Association. Within the scope of the 'Clean Sea, Clean Future' project, prepared within the scope of the EU Think Civil Program, the association gave diving training to 20 volunteers. Young people aged between 16 and 30 received training at diving schools authorized by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation and became the owner of the CMAS-1 diving certificate. Young people who received training within the scope of the project formed the underwater cleaning team of the Environment Platform with the members of the Antalya Underwater Association. The team made its first dive in the historical Kaleici Marina. The team met at the historical port earlier in the day and made a meticulous preparation before diving. Tubes were checked one by one, diving equipment was reviewed. After all the preparations were completed, the divers jumped into the water one by one. During the dive, while the port joined the yacht and boat traffic, the maritime police accompanied the dive.
