Bludenz

« Bludenz » takes part in the European Local Democracy Week - a paneuropean event coordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe - as « Partner city »

With around 15,000 inhabitants, the Alpine town of Bludenz is the lively center of the five valleys Walgau, Brandnertal, Montafon, Klostertal and Großes Walsertal in the southernmost corner of Vorarlberg. Since 2021 Bludenz is part of the MissionZero project. Thereby the adminstration wants to achieve climate neutrality by reducing the CO2 emission radically. For reaching this goal until 2035 the town of Bludenz takes a lot of actions in extending the public transport and to improve the energy sector. A team from administration and politics takes care of climate protection and adaptation, raising awareness on environmental issues, ecological improvement and internal processes.
